I finally put brush to paint on the walls in the kitchen. Yes it's only the first coat of primer but what a difference it makes already. From grey old wallboard on one wall, yellow / darker yellow/ patch of blue on the other and greyey white on the sink wall just plain white looks okay. The patch over the fan hole came out nicely because I purchase an easy spackly joint compound in a tub. It went on like frosting, smoothed out easily and sanded off like a dream. Two hours later it got primed. Another coat of primer tomorrow morning and then it's on to the ceiling.
After a pizza dinner from the local shop (how could I cook, everything and I mean everything was covered in drop cloths, I went up to my craft room and worked further on the mermaid. She's finished as goes the stitching and now its on to assembly. I just have to look in my bead stash for some little pearls to add as a decorative element for her. Note: not a mermaid alphabet in sight.
