A puppet is born

Worked on the cat puppet today. The body is done but it need ears and a tail and a couple of washes to felt it up. The Lambs Pride yarn is nice to knit with. It has enough strength so that it doesn't come apart whilst knitting.

In answer to a comment: Wisdom Yarn is a brand from San Francisco. I don't know if it gives you wisdom but I think there is a calming influence when one knits. The calm lets you think more clearly and gets better insites to problems you are working on. So...from yarn to knitting to wisdom... Knit on!

Beaded Box

I finished the top and bottom of the beaded box from Jill Oxton's Cross Stitch & Beading magazine issue 72. It needs stiffening and a decorative bead detail on the top of the box but it came out really nice. The pattern was easy to follow and you could use up delicas you already own.

Also cast on and knit a few inches of a cat puppet using the remaining yarn from Susan the Sheep. I used size 9 double pointed and wished I owned a 9 circular as at the beginning some of the stitches slid off of the ends of the needles. But too late I was off and knitting knowing it will all come out beautifully after a few wash cycles.

Beading

Started working on a tiny beaded box from an Australian Beading magazine. It's very tiny, made from delicas. It is just big enough to fit a ring.

It's a pair

Finished the second sock today so the Wisdom socks are done. I didn't even try to match up the yarns so the socks would come out exactly the same, but never the less they do somewhat match up. They feel really nice and I like the k3p1 ribbing. A little variation from just k2p2.

On with the foot

I did all of the heel decreases and now its on to the foot. About 2-3 inches and then the final toe. I'm going to remake my favorite sock pattern into one index card cheat sheet. I've made so many of the same patterns that I just need my favorite numbers to go by.
Not as much crafting got done today. The leaves in the yard keep calling saying "rake me, shred me, bag me". Then tonite ... more leaves have fallen. It's an endless job that never is finished.

Heel

I knitted the leg and back flap of the sock and then turned the heel. Now it's on to the heel decreases and then 6 inches of foot. The first sock is already knit so it's just waiting on its mate.

Susan is a Sheep

Susan is finished and came out really cute.
She's about 8 inches tall, at the head and is soft and cuddly.

I worked on my sock today and got about 3 inches done. The "Wisdom Yarn" is nice to work with and has fun varigations.

This is what the pilgrims look like so far. I had some crafting assistance from my kitty helper Magpie who decided that she needed to lay on top of everything. She is a very non-judgemental craft assistant who likes to check out and approve of everything.

Waiting for Susan

Susan is drying, waiting to be stuffed tomorrow. I worked on the pair of pilgrims that I finished the cross stitch on a month or so ago. They need a lot of finishing but they will be so adorable on the mantle.

Day 2 Pictures

Here is the start of my sheep project. They are really cute and fun to knit.

Here is what one looks like after a morning and tv, watching evening of knitting.

She's flat and floppy and doesn't look the greatest but just wait until after the a trip through the washing machine about 2 or three times and then a stuff. Susan (I think that's her name) will look just stunning.

Day 2

Last nite I finished a paper halloween tree from the Canon website. I liked the new fast dry glue I used. Kept everything in place. The tree came out pretty nice but I need to ink the edges to cover up the white creases.

Cast on for the sheep for mom and by 11 am this morning, just before going off to work, I had the body finished. Its going to be a cute cuddly sheep. The yarn is soft and easy to knit with.

The other item I finished on Friday was my project of the month from Silver Needle. It's cute and the varigated perle cotton was pretty easy to stitch with.

First Post

Today is my first post for my library/crafting blog. My goal is to post daily my crafting accomplishments or even just their progress.
