More Sheep

Working on adding to my zoo/farm and this all of the parts for Shaun the Sheep. A lot of assembly is required but even Shaun isn't finished with his knitting. I've got a bag of parts for Timmy the sheep and his mother too.

Knitting a zoo

Worked on assembly today and finished a little tiny panda.
Next was the tiny alligator or crocodile. Could be either.
Here is the zebra body and its tiny striped legs. I ran out of straws that are used to stiffen the legs so I had to stop production and read a book instead. I think a camel or lion is next up for my tiny zoo.

What is it

Finished knitting all of the panda parts but they just look like black and white tangles of yarn. Lots of assembly there. Tonite I knitted the main body of what will be a zebra. If you knit the same pattern all in one color than it's a horse, but this will be a zebra.

Knitting a little

These little knitted blobs are going to turn into feet for an alligator.
Here is what a panda looks like when he's in the infancy knitting stage.

Some assembly required

Worked on framing Johnny Depp in his pirate guise today. He came out quite handsome and will go well with David Tenant
Here is the first animal for my zoo. It's an elephant that about 4.5 inches tall.
Here he is showing off his side view. He's soft but his trunk and tusks are pose-able as they have pipe cleaners (chenille stems) inside them. He makes you want to just side and play with him. They do take a bit of time to assemble because each piece is sewn separately and then added to the whole. Being careful in the sewing makes them come out so nice looking.

Here is the next knitted set of blobs. The top is knit in moss stitch to give it texture. The underside is just plain garter stitch for skin like look. He/She will look really cool. When you finish up one animal, the others call out and say "Knit me next, please" and of course I'm listening to them.

It's a blob

Worked on lots of blobs today. This set will turn into a snowman. The elephant has all it's parts knit but there is a lot of assembly in the future for these knitted pals. I spent a lot of time just putting all of my craft toys away today and getting organized for future craft adventures. Looking forward to tomorrow for assembly.

Back to knitting

Started knitting again today and this is what the end project will look like.
This is what they look now. They have a lot of pieces but the Sirdar yarn is so soft and wonderful to knit with they will be lots of fun.
